Audrey Christensen

found herself smothered in motherhood, drowning in post-partum depression, overwhelmed by the everyday tasks of being a working mother with 3 kids, and wondering if this was the life she was supposed to be leading.

The story of her finding her way through goes like this…

It was New Year’s Eve, she sat in the living room wearing the same pair of pajamas she had on for the last few days. Her hair was up, like always, smelling rather rankish. Her two boys were passed out on the couch covered in New Year’s snacks as her husband slept in the recliner. As the countdown started towards 2017, her baby whined in her arms. She ssh’d her and gave it her breast.

At that moment, she looked around and thought to herself. This can’t be it. THIS CAN’T BE IT and in pure desperation she called out, begging for a purpose, for a life that held more than comfortable pajamas and kids with tummies full of candy.

She wanted friendships again, moments of pure laughter, the joy of having a reason to get dressed for the day. She wanted a connection of any kind that didn’t require boo-boo kisses and blowing raspberries on soft bellies. She was done nagging, done with wishing for a clean house and waking up early to go to a job that meant nothing just to come home exhausted to do it all over again.

So at that moment, on New Year’s Eve, she demanded a purpose.

Now if this was a fairy tale, her fairy godmother would come floating in a sea of sparkles to whisk her away to a life she deserved. Where all it would take would be a few taps of her wand and boom bop sparkle, it would be done. Instead, she laid her baby down in her crib, carried the heavy kids up to their beds, and cleaned the snacks off the living room floor as her husband slept.

All while noting, that when tomorrow comes, she would make a plan to find herself again.

Now we could go on and on about what steps she took to overcome the monotony. I am sure that there is an IG post where she talks about it. But instead, we will leave you with this…

Audrey took her life back on that dark lonely New Year’s Eve. In that moment of desperation, she knew that there would be no coming back to that version of herself.

Instead, she took to writing, creating art, oversharing on the internet, and sewing cloth dolls to reconnect with her daughter that was lost in the shuffle of PPD.

Teaching doll-making classes, to learning and discovering watercolor embroidery. To gain a following online, becoming a FULL-TIME artist, led her to make and plan a very successful Backyard Art Market called the yART sale which then amplified her passion for becoming a Creative Business Coach and creating her group coaching program The Makers Huddle which is for the creative entrepreneur like yourself.

This all led back to the community and friendships she so wanted on that dreary day.

So if you are here, reading this, know that you were a dream begged for and one that comes true.
