Summer 2026

Oingapatchk

pronounced: oyn-gah-patch-k

Your unfinished art

deserves a second artist.

There is a Yiddish word -- Ungepatchka -- for something that is too much. Overly ornate. Layered beyond reason. Busy in a way that shouldn't work but somehow does.

We named this exhibition after that word.

Not as a rule. As a permission slip.

Oingapatchk is where unfinished work finds its second half. You bring the piece you couldn't finish. We put it in someone else's hands. They complete it in their own voice -- not yours. And what comes back is something neither of you planned, and both of you made.

Open call launches April 19 · Gallery opening June 5

Two hands. Two instincts.
Two ways of knowing when a work is finished.
What matters is not how far the work is pushed.
But it is expressed fully.

How it works

You submit something unfinished. Not abandoned -- waiting. The piece that stalled out, the canvas that sat, the thing you kept coming back to and walking away from. You tell us about it. Where it is. Where it stopped. What it's made of.

We read every submission and make the pairings ourselves -- thoughtfully, based on medium and instinct and what feels like it has the most potential to become something neither artist saw coming. You find out who you're paired with at the artist exchange on May 9. From there, you finish their piece. They finish yours. In your own voice. On your own terms. No rules about how far to go -- only that you go there genuinely.

The finished works hang together at Two Bit Bistro for ten days. Every piece carries two hands. Every sale splits 50/50. Organizers handle all transactions and pay out within 48 hours of the June 14 closing event.
